[DRAMA REVIEW] Hospital Playlist

The most Heartwarming drama of the 2020 goes to.. Hospital Playlist! God, I don’t know what to say, but I am feeling warm while watching this drama. At first, I watched it because of Jo Jongsuk and Jung Kyungho without knowing that this is one of Shin PD drama just like Prison Playbook and Reply series, but it was kinda hectic at first episode and I didn’t understand yet, yeah people said that you have to endure the first two episodes to find out whether you want to continue the drama or not, but I wasn’t in the mood to watch this drama.

After I went through some dramas journey (watch many other dramas) and some spoilers ahead of this drama, finally I decided to finish this drama. And how come I am so falling in love with all the characters, even the minor characters? Yeah kinda typical Shin PD drama, but I still love it anyway.There are some reasons why I fell in love to this drama:

First, Story Line.

 Of course a good drama must have a good story line and yes this drama has it! Without knowing what the drama gonna about, at first I of course wished a  romantic comedy story, my- favorite-drama-genre and also wished there gonna be a love line for my favorite actor Jo Jongsuk with Jeon Mido, but as the times goes by the drama is more heartwarming for the friendship story than the love story. I was brought to many kinds of relationships, such as friendships, parents-children, brother-sister, couple, seniors-juniors and many more. Again, yes typical story of Shin PD drama  which is loved by many people.

Second, how come you don’t envy 5 friends of this drama?

Lee Ik Jun, Ahn Jungwon, Chae Songhwa, Kim Junwan and Yang Yeonseok are five people who have been friends since university and they are able to work in the same hospital. Moreover, they are specialists in their fields and one of them is the son of hospital owners, yes he is Ahn Jungwon. Of course just like in school people like them are famous between co-workers in hospital. Even there is a doctor who has a clinic to tell people who are curious about their background or their past.

Because Ahn Jungwon wanna make them doctors who handle VIP patients and Yang Yeonseok not gonna accept it otherwise they form a band, so that they form a band. I kinda confuse actually, because in this drama, they are portrayed as busy doctors who are ready anytime the patient needs them, but they are able to form a band. Yeah doctors are human too anyway. The band is one of the things that make this drama warm and lovable. I love all the songs, moreover Me to You, You to Me , damn it is my earworms right now. 

Third, It may be part of the story line too, but I want it to be explained more. Drama, but not too dramatic = Family Friendly

Yes, this is one of my favorite characters in the Shin PD drama. Hospital as a setting doesn’t make this drama dramatic so much. There are some drama scenes, but it wasn’t too dramatic. Even when someone passed away in the drama, it wasn’t portrayed so dramatically, so that you aren't really tired while watching it.

Some scenes that I thought in other dramas can be so dramatic but in this drama not, such as Lee Ik Jun divorce, Lee Ik Sun left Korea and many more. I know some are dramatic, but it always switched fastly after the scene. When you watch this kind of drama, you’ll know there won't be bad things happening. That’s why this drama is so warm and family friendly.

Yet, no drama is perfect, of course.

I don’t know because the episodes are shorter than several Shin PD dramas that I had watched or because it will have season 2, but I felt lacking the deep taste in gathering scenes between 5 friends. Honestly, every scene of 5 of them together I wished there were gonna be long scenes while they are talking about themselves or a deep conversation about life. Yeah that’s only my opinion. But, whatsoever, I am waiting for both special episodes or season 2.
